[ music | "The American Dream" - Miss Saigon ]

Christmas is coming too fast. I guess I haven't noticed because they started slipping Christmas songs into the Musac at Marshalls so early as early November, that I haven't noticed it's apparent onslaught is near. I've gotten like 50% of my shopping done, but I've got a bit more to do. I need to finish up my Christmas card design and get a bunch printed out. I think I'm out of cardstock. Fuck me.

I got the Miss Saigon London Cast recording. OMG, I love it so much. omg i loev it sooo muhc i couuld takl liek this!!!!!1

But not really.

Tonight I picked up Kate/Kat and we had dinner at Woody's, and then I chaperoned the yearly Mormon Church in Cerritos SCS gig. Went well. I mean, I heard everything fine. But the sound isn't so great there, so I don't think anyone onstage could hear the music. You guys managed to stay right on the beats, though. Good job there. After the show I dropped the CD back off at Tim Nelson's house (still never been inside), and took Gretch home, then chilled at Kate's house for a bit...and now I'm home, reading my new Entertainment Weekly. (AJ: sexy pix of Hillary Duff in there for you. ;-) ) Haha. Yeeeaahhh...

"You fucking beautiful piece of crap."

Well said.

[ music | "If I Didn't Believe In You" - The Last Five Years ]

Today was pretty cool, and I have some exciting things to look forward to!

School was fine, a breeze. Had work off today, so I went shopping with my mom. I got one of those 14 dollar Ben Nye theatre makeup kits, a wig, some thin glasses, and some faux hair/spirit gum that I'm going to use for my Fagin beard. Yes. Beard. Today, at about 4pm, I deleted the blasted goatee. How nice it was to have a smooth chin once again. I felt refreshed.

I hung around at home for a little while, then Bekki Reichert invited me over to her apartment, so I hopped on the 22 freeway, for about an hour(not really), and eventually made it there. So she told me to wait by the gate. I stood there for a bit, waiting for her, and a car came by and the gate opened, so I figured, hey, one less thing for her to do. So I'm sitting inside the parking area waiting for her and she calls me. Turns out she was at the OTHER gate for fifteen minutes. So I tell her to come rescue me because now I'm trapped inside while she's outside, and people keep staring at me because I'm just standing around. So she found me and took me on a little trek to her loft and her and I went up and chatted for the 45 minutes I had before I had to leave. It was nice.

I bid her farewell after she walked me back to my car, because God knows I'd get lost in the dark random pathways of that place, and I headed on to my voice lesson. Sang "Bui Doi"...like four times, and then I had to sing "Facade." Ech, my voice was tired.

I hate the labor strike. The picketers are all heartless bitches. I go to get milk and they just make snide comments and insult my decision to try and help my family. *growl*

I'm seeing "Oliver!" in Hollywood at the Kodak THeatre this Friday night with Lindsey O'Connell. It's going to be super exciting. I can't wait!! Saturday night is Peter's "Joseph.." which I'm attending so far with Lemke. Anyone else who wants to go, please go. Let's all support the P-Daddy!

Anyway, long entry. I doubt all of it will be read. XD Have a good one, guys.

The Haunting VS Lizzie McGuire - A Movie Night with Kat [29 Nov 2003|09:30am]
[ mood | cheerful ]
[ music | "Cinderfella" - Dana Dane ]

Wooooowww...

So tonight was crazyawesomerad. Kat stopped by Marshalls and we went to to rent some movies. I made the horrible choice of saying, "If you watch The Haunting with me, I'll let you pick out any movie in this whole Blockbuster and I'll watch it." Uh...we ended up with The Haunting and The Lizzie McGuire Movie. The Lizzie fucking McGuire Movie.

The Haunting was really freaky. Not like completely scary, but it was just...okay, let's just say children are fucking scary and always will be. :( "Eleanor...come find us..." Oh yeah, we ate some Popeye's chicken during the movie, too.

After The Haunting was over, Kat was afraid to go to the bathroom because she thought I was going to pop out and scare her or something. So after twenty minutes or so of me yelling, "JUST GO TO THE BATHROOM" she went. She came out and we stuck our names into Kazaa to see if there was anything interesting. We came upon a hiphop artist named Dana Dane, and I must say, we are both hooked on the song 'Cinderfella.'

Um from Brookyln. Are you?

The Lizzie McGuire Movie...wow. Let me just say...I wanted to kill myself. So that was a waste of two hours. Okay, not at all. We laughed at everything. I wish Lizzie wasn't such a bitch to Gordo. MAN.

Now I'm hooked on Dana Dane and Hillary Duff music. I smell new mix CD's!!!

So, tonight was great. Be sure to stay tuned for more D & Kat Adventure Chronicles.

Fruition [26 Nov 2003|06:44pm]
"But what of us?" said Grego. "Will we be extinguished? What difference does it make then, the ones of us who had plans, what does it matter the work we've done? The children we've raised?" He looked pointedly at Olhado. "What will it matter then, that you have such a big happy family, if you're all erased in one instant by that...bomb?"
"Not one moment of my life with my family has been wasted," said Olhado quietly.
"But the point of it is to go on, isn't it? To connect with the future?"
"That's one part, yes," said Olhado. "But part of the purpose of it is now, is the moment. And part of it is the web of connections. Links from soul to soul. If the purpose of life was just to continue into the future, then none of it would have meaning, because it would be all anticipation and preperation. There's fruition, Grego. There's the happiness we've already had. The happiness of each moment. The end of our lives, even if there's no forward continuation, no progeny at all, the end of our lives doesn't erase the beginning."
"But we won't have amounted to anything," said Grego. "If your children die, then it was all a waste."
"No," Olhado said quietly. "You say that because you have no children, Greguinho. But none of it is wasted. The child you hold in your arms for only a day before he dies, that is not wasted, because that one day is enough of a purpose in itself. Entropy has been thrown back for an hour, a day, a week, a month. Just because we might all die here on this little world does not undo the lives before the deaths."
Grego shook his head. "Yes it does, Olhado. Death undoes everything."
Olhado shrugged. "Then why do you bother doing everything, Grego? Because someday you will die. Why should anyone ever have children? Someday they will die, and their children will die, all children will die. Someday stars will wind down or blow up. Someday death will cover us all like the water of a lake and perhaps nothing will ever come to the surface to show that we were ever there. But we were there, and during the time we lived, we were alive. That's the truth--what is, what was, what will be---not what could be, what should have been, what never can be. If we die, then our death has meaning to the rest of the universe. Even if our lives are unknown, the fact that someone lived here, and died, that will have repercussions, that will shape the universe."
"So that's meaning enough for you?" said Grego. "To dies as an object lesson? To die so that people can feel awful about having killed you?"
"There are worse meanings for a life to have."

D's Trip to the Strip [18 Nov 2003|02:03pm]
[ mood | chipper ]
[ music | Earth, Wind, and Fire - "September" ]

Oh man.

Where do I begin? Well, it's good to be home. I'll start there. So as most of you know, I went to Vegas. But let me re-cap the rest of my weekend. Friday night I went to see Comedy Sportz and everyone was hilarious. Loved it. As always. Saturday morning I saw Matrix Revolutions. It was good, I s'pose. I don't think it BLEW like a lot of people did, cuz I like weird actiony sci-fi. I went with one of my good friends. One of my awesome friends. Let's just say they're amazing or something.

So after that, I came home and napped, attended MYART, where I could barely do crap because I felt so crappy. My allergies decided to catch up with me. Better now than later, I suppose. That night I picked up Derek and he stayed over. In the morning, around 7, we set off for Vegas.

I haven't been to Vegas since I was four, and my last memories of it were blurry. So I considered it the first time I had ever been there, and that made it way cooler. All the hotels...it's like I had never seen them before. It was amazing. The only thing that blew, though, is that I've seen pictures of Treasure Island, and I was definitely looking forward to it, but it's not Treasure Island anymore. It's the "ti." In lowercase. The new sign is pretty fruity...it's just a big "ti" with neon plasma screens in it. What's worse...no skull and crossbones to be found ANYWHERE in the hotel.

So anyhoo, we stayed at the Hawthorn Suites, a place off the strip. It was nice. Sunday night, we ate at "ti" (to my dismay), and then went to Luxor to see The Blue Man Group. Holy SHIT. The show was so freaking awesome. Like...I can't even explain it. At all. It was just...Brian, you NEED to see this show. I know you would appreciate EVERYTHING about it. Crazy stuff. Especially the end. Talk about interactive. Wow.

Monday morning/afternoon was COMDEX 2003. Apparently it's been getting lame over the years. Everything is moving to E3 or CES. So there wasn't too much there to occupy me or Derek, or my dad for that matter. We got some cool fashy Google pins, and I got a hat. Then we left. That night was Gameworks (very fun), Caeser's Palace, Aladdin, Paris (I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and got some cool pictures), Bellagio, and Monte Carlo. Derek and I got to go off by ourselves for awhile and just check things out.

So all in all, I had a fun time for the short duration I got to be there. I know I'm gonna go back again. I think it should be a big group thing. I dunno, that'd be fun. Anyway, I think I might catch some shut eye before MYART tonight. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

I missed an exam, and the turn-in deadline for a homework packet.

Life is good.

SinCityfully yours,

"D"

Holy SHITCAKES. [13 Nov 2003|05:39pm]
[ mood | giddy ]
[ music | When Hope Goes - The Spitfire Grill ]

wtf, Cho kissed Harry.

That about explains where I am in 'Order of the Phoenix' right now. Yeah. Pretty exciting book. Too bad everything in it is pissing me off. That Umbridge chick? Yeah, wanna shoot her. In the mouth. OH GOD, while I'm on the subject, I was watching the news on my break at work today and they were like, "At 5, catch a sneak peek of the new Harry Potter movie." I was like WTF?! :D!!! It's still gonna come out! I was getting really worried. Oh man, it's gonna be the best one of the three movies. Seriously. Remus and Sirius? KICK ASS.

All right..so school was pretty good. Re-learned logarithms. (whee). Music class was cancelled because our teacher had to oversee 'Concert Hour.' But we still had to come at 12 for roll, so I decided to go watch it. When I walked in there, who should I see but the beautiful Julia Loofburrow herself! She was all dolled up sweater-style. :D So I had a buddy to hang with for an hour. We watched some horrible arias, and a few pretty good ones. The last girl to sing did 'Gimme Gimme' from Millie. I was like, wtf? She did all right. Sutton was apparently better. I mean, c'mon. Anyway, that was fun. Always appreciate a good Julia hour.

I have voice tonight, then Oliver! rehearsal. Thank God It's Thriday. My God, I thought it would never get here. Comedy Sportz tomorrow. EVERYONE GO. I'm gonna sport a giant B.P. banner for Jeff and Nathan. WOO! Saturday's with Katie and then more rehearsal, then Derek is coming over and in the morning we leave for the desert.

Thaaaat's about it.

I love Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

"And Ravenclaw loses the match!" [07 Nov 2003|10:43pm]
[ mood | amused ]

I bought this game tonight, and have had a blast playing it. No one was home tonight to come hang out with me and play it, so I played it with my mom. I would just like to point out that she kicked my ass twice. and I was TRYING. I was actually trying really hard, and she beat me twice. I mean, I had the advantage in the passing and scoring of the Quaffle, but when we were head-to-head going after the golden Snitch, I wasn't even close.

Anyway, it was fun losing to my mom, because she would be like, "Did I...wait, what just happened?" "You won, mom." "No I didn't. How did I win?!" It was funny. She kept looking at the controller then back at the screen. She was quite perplexed. But I warn you. Try to play Quidditch against my mum and she'll wail on you.

So yeah, that's what I've been doing. Since I called a lot of you and none of you answered, fill me in on YOUR Friday nights. Hehehehe. <3

"Did you see any of the pretty things...my dear?" [06 Nov 2003|09:32pm]
Oh man, so can I just say I love finally being able to play a villian? Okay, so he's more like a semi-villian, but still! We blocked the scene where Fagin threatens to slit Oliver's throat with the sausage fork tonight and I got so into it. I think I scared little Asher. Heh.. anyway, I'm having a blast with this part and can't wait to perform it onstage!

School/Work remain the same. Vegas is comin' up soon. Next weekend! Whee! Hmmm...that's about it.

Wow, P.A. Baumann is one sexy... [05 Nov 2003|08:06pm]
...jew. Yeah, I need to go ahead and thank this awesome boy for making my Livejournal what it IS. Hellz yes. Pierce, you're so awesome. All right. On with the post.

Pretty slow and boring week so far, but I'm muddlin' through. I found out I was doing well in all my classes except for Math. Oh well. Interesting, I saw Jahan yesterday at Marshalls. He was buying an awesome hat. My mom bought me two sweaters. How nice is that?? Yeah.

I also realized that I'm going to Vegas the weekend after this one. Stoooked. Dad's taking me and Derek to COMDEX 2003, the big huge computer expo they have there every year. So that's something to look forward to. I haven't been to Vegas since I was like...5.

Anyway, besides that, I'm just chillin'. Miss you guys. Peace out.
